HVAC Tech I - Facilities

We currently seek an HVAC TechnicianI for our customer in Snyder, Texas.

Job Summary:

The HVAC Tech I assists other technicians in performing the following duties: Operates, monitors and maintains utilities, including HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) setup, maintenance and balancing, WFI (water for injection), purified water and process equipment. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical equipment and systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required to streamline processes and increase efficiency. Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve facilities processes.

Essential Duties

  • Assists other technicians in the maintenance and repair of HVAC mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems.
  • Completes all required paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Uses tools and equipment that are standard issue and do not need further calibration or adjustment. Keeps tools and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Works on and completes all facility team-based goals.
  • Observes and complies with all company safety policies. Uses required personal protective equipment while satisfying all work requests.
  • Other duties as requried.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum education preferred of the position: High School Diploma or GED Craft training is preferred.
  • Minimum experience preferred of the position: 0-2 years.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position:

  • Methods and principles of general building maintenance.
  • At least 1 year of HVAC repair experience is needed.
  • Must have a professional demeanor, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written).
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Must have basic computer skills.

Job Band and Level

Works with clearly defined methods and tasks that are described in detail. Works under close supervision with little autonomy. Requires little or no prior relevant training or work experience.

Working Conditions

Work may be performed outdoors subject to extreme heat and cold, noise, vibrations and dust, fumes and oils. Must have the ability to wear a portable respirator and adhere to all company safety requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to work skillfully with both hands constantly.
  • Must have the ability to independently lift and carry objects safely that weigh up to 20 pounds routinely, 50 pounds frequently and 80 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffold; kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, push, pull, twist, finger, grasp and feel on a constant and repetitive basis; stand, walk, talk, see (20/20 vision naturally or corrected), hear within normal range and perform repetitive motion activities.
  • Must be able to physically negotiate the hazards of a building, mechanical space, electrical space, plumbing space, crawl space, pit, and attic (e. g. uneven surfaces, floor openings, heights, debris and poor lighting) and adhere to all company safety requirements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
