Engineer - Facilities

Primary purpose:This position is responsible for providing facilities engineering and project management support for the safe and efficient construction of oil and gas facilities. Position level commensurate with experience and skill set Essential duties and responsibilities:Leads team efforts to maintain the Kinder Morgan CO2 EHS goal of "Target 0?Identify and schedule outside training courses to advance technical skills and developmentCompletes facilities engineering and project management assignments of variable scope and complexitySupervise construction crewsLeads engineering projects related to gas plants, pipelines, gathering systems, compressor facilities and other production/processing related facilities in CO2 flood assetsWorks with CO2 flood asset production and operations teams to develop project scope and cost estimatesLeads procurement efforts related to facilities projects listed aboveDevelop and utilize tools for cost tracking from project inception through completionProvide regular reports and updates to management on project execution and financial status
Position Requirements
Education:Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, Electrical or Chemical preferred) from an accredited institution. Experience / specific knowledge:1-5 years of engineering or project management experience in the oil and gas and/or pipeline industryExperience applying industry and/or company standard techniques to provide recommendations for solutions to problemsProficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)Experience with process simulation software preferred (HYSYS, Unisim, ChemCAD, ProMax, etc.) Certifications, licenses, registrations:Valid driver?s license and acceptable driving record Competencies, skills, and abilities:Must be an excellent team player willing to lead and/or take part in a multidisciplinary team as requiredWorks with drafts persons, technicians, and other engineers to complete projectsWorks with moderate directionWorks on multiple projects simultaneouslyMust possess strong written and verbal communication skills Physical demands:Safety sensitive positionSignificant travel to field operations and construction sites. Will occasionally work in inclement weatherMust occasionally lift loads up to 50 lbs Working conditions:50/50 office and job site (outdoor) work locationsWorking after hours, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call as neededSome project locations may require vehicle travel greater than 100 milesOvernight travel is occasionally required depending on project needs Supervisory responsibility:Will supervise contractors on a regular basisWill be tasked with leading inter company teams made up of multiple disciplines and experience levels on an as needed basisPreferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities above the minimum requirements (not required but advantageous in this position):PE and PMP certifications considered a plus but are not requiredProficiency with Microsoft Project or Primavera softwareProficiency with AutoCAD or other drafting software packages

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
