The Plant Engineer at the Snyder, TX facility is integral to supporting the Safe, Efficient and Reliable Operations to achieve the overall Plant Performance objectives and reliable delivery of products to our customers. This cross-functional role is responsible for the Engineering, Maintenance and Reliability functions for this PSM covered Site. This role will lead and/or support HSE performance, regulatory compliance, compliance with company policies and procedures, OEE, unit troubleshooting, cost control, DCS support, contractor management, etc. The Maintenance technicians report to the Plant Engineer. Responsabilities:
Comply with all Solvay and plant policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Ensure that your teams comply with Solvay, plant and regulatory policies, procedures and requirements. Manages and leads maintenance and reliability initiatives for the plant and oversight of maintenance and contractor teams. Lead the plant's Mechanical Integrity and Reliability Programs for the process plant equipment assets to meet regulatory compliance requirements and support deployment of recommended engineering and industry best practices Be an active advocate of HSE and Process Safety. Proactively seek solutions to minimize HSE and Process risk at the site. Participate and / or lead in incident investigations. Execute improvement actions as required. Be a presence in the field, both for employee engagement purposes and for performance compliance purposes. Conduct routine field audits for HSE and PSM. Manage the Maintenance P&S process in order to meet business objectives and customer demands. Support your team in achieving high performance metrics. Manage maintenance activities and resources in order to meet short and long term business objectives. Serve as the first point of contact for DCS/Automation issues. Site liaison between regional DCS support and the plant. Lead Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Work Process for prioritization of Work Orders and development of Weekly Maintenance Schedules with inputs from the Production and Logistics teams. Effectively manage costs within your purview. Perform routine assessments of the performance of your personnel. Lead in the development of the Capital Plan for the Site and manage small capital and expense projects. Network and Collaborate with Corporate or Oil & Gas GBU Sites for Shared Learnings exchange. Other responsibilities as defined by the Plant Manager and/or as dictated by business needs. Education and Experience BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred. 7
years of related experience in chemical manufacturing preferred. 5
years of leadership experience with proven results. Skills Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Basic computer skills:
email, spreadsheets, database use. Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and establish actions accordingly. Ability to perform basic engineering calculations is a must, e.g. hydraulic calculations. Ability to relate to all levels of the organization. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Basic knowledge of cost accounting and management. Must be able to wear a respirator and don full PPE when required. Must be able to pass all required training, including 24-hr HAZWOPER. Familiarity with OSHA, PSM and DOT regulations is a plus.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Chemical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
